The Jesus family tomb thing

from Dr. Blosser. It includes an interesting ‘other side of the story’ section.

More links, as the Catholic blogosphere sneers at this insidious attempt to make money with blasphemy:

- Open book.
- Way of the Fathers.
- Grail Code.

Always read to learn something, but read histories not sensationalist news items. And I wouldn’t trust everything the Discovery network throws at us.

Check out Vatican Radio at http://vaticanradio.org and click on English. We did a news item on it last night and it will probably go on today’s programme. (I’m not today’s producer.) It’s part of an interview by our newsdesk with the Vatican’s archaeology dept.

I was also talking to a Scripture scholar who said that the claims of having found Jesus’ body is so full of holes that it’s obvious this is nothing more than a stunt aimed at getting money and publicity. Similar publicity did a lot for ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and for the book (I can’t remember the title) about St. James and also the Gospel of Judas. That several scholars have totally rejected the claims of authenticity have been ignored in the book about Jesus, so that, when it is eventually released, it’s likely that, to anybody serious, the writer has shot himself in the foot.

    God bless,

Thanks, Sr. Janet. I will now proceed to circulate the link to Vatican Radio.

How funny. Jesus lived to be 90 with a wife and kids, and those wacky Christians didn’t even notice! And got themselves killed and everything for saying he died and rose again! Those wacky Christians! Good lord, what a bad joke. Even the Jewish scholars are laughing at this “Jesus’ tomb” thing.

Hey, Tom. How are you? There’s a Jesus also buried somewhere in Pakistan. Makes you wonder which Jesus that was.

Hi, Kevin — I’m doing very well. How have you been? There’s also a Jesus buried in Japan, of all places, and you can apparently get a tour from one of his descendants. Everybody wants a piece of Jesus, don’t they?
