This is a term I discovered in my reading of the old book Hierurgia, which I mentioned before. It refers to the monstrance, the receptacle used for the Blessed Sacrament during Benediction.

I’m new to Chesterton, and I’m hooked. That’s why I’m glad I discovered the Gilbert magazine and this article. The text notwithstanding, the illustrations make for a beautiful antique-looking website.

I tried hard to see the Holy Land with Wikimapia, the best I could do was find Jerusalem. Now, there’s BibleMap.org. Now I can at last map regions like Samaria and old Turkey (referred to in Acts as Asia) in my mind.
