Two reviews I especially liked are at:
- The American Papist, with Thomas Peters.
- Decent Films dot com, with Steve Greydanus.

And it’s William Bouguereau, again. Mr. Bouguereau’s art belongs to what they call ‘Classical realism’. Such artists strove to imitate classical body types used by the ancients in depicting people. Such models are therefore of ‘perfect’ proportions.
The picture appears to me to represent the Lord, his mother and cousin John. I’m not sure, although.

The tenth part of Didache:
1. And after ye are satisfied thus give ye thanks:2. We give Thee thanks, Holy Father, for Thy holy name, which Thou hast made to tabernacle in our hearts, and for the knowledge and faith and immortality, which Thou hast made known unto us through Thy Son Jesus; Thine is the [...]

Here’s something that occasioned a flashback. Linked over from Slashdot: how a LEGO brick is made. If you think this subject has nothing to do with standing on the Rock, take a look at this.

This is a nice project, the Aquinas Translation project that:
seeks to provide scholars, religious and any interested individuals with tranlations of St. Thomas Aquinas’ works not readily available in English.
A very nice idea. I’m not a scholar, but I would be interested in Aquinas’ commentary on the Psalms.

2. First, as regards the cup: We give Thee thanks, O our Father, for the holy vine of Thy son David, which Thou madest known unto us through Thy Son Jesus; Thine is the glory for ever and ever.
3. Then as [...]

My Lord said, “My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought to prevent my being surrendered to the Jews.” This reminds me of the scene in Mel Gibson’s movie where the badly flagellated and crowned Christ is presented to the Roman governor. Another more [...]

From line 119:
“It is the task of exegetes to work, according to these rules, towards a better understanding and explanation of the meaning of Sacred Scripture in order that their research may help the Church to form a firmer judgement. For, of course, all that has been said about the manner of interpreting Scripture is [...]
