Get Firefox 2.0

Firefox 2

Browser world is alive with the new offerings from MS and Mozilla. Now, IE7 looks very flashy, but Firefox has everything it does and more. Besides, IE7 is properly integrated into the Windows system, and the last thing I require is for my system to crash more than it already does. And at 14MB, the download is almost three times as large.

Interesting bit of statistics, from Slashdot:

“Firefox 2.0 has had over two million downloads in 24 hours with a peak rate of over 30 downloads a second. This means Firefox is well on track to beat IE7’s three million in four days. Of course stats don’t equal users but it’s interesting to see that the demand for Firefox is currently outstripping IE.”

Get Firefox.

Update: I may have been a little too enthusiastic. This is something I’ve just discovered, also from Slashdot:

Expanding on these ideas, this list compiles nine reasons why it might be a good idea to stick with 1.5 until the debut of 3.0, skipping the “poorly badged” 2.0 release completely.
